Celebrating the Success of NZ Kannada Koota’s Dosa Camp Fundraiser
The recent Dosa Camp, organised by the NZ Kannada Koota on Saturday, 17 February, was a resounding success, creating lasting memories for all who attended. Held at the Western Bays Sea Scouts on Griffin Park Road, Mount Roskill, the event ran from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm, with ample parking available for attendees' convenience.
The event saw a fantastic turnout, with community members coming together to celebrate Indian heritage and enjoy the spirit of unity. Fifteen talented chefs worked tirelessly to prepare and serve delicious dosas, ensuring everyone had their fill of the delectable treat. The aroma of freshly cooked dosas filled the air, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie.
Not only was the event a gastronomic delight, but it also successfully raised funds for the Kannada Shaale programme. This initiative by the NZ Kannada Koota aims to teach the Kannada language and culture to younger generations, ensuring that the rich heritage of Kannadigas is preserved and passed down.
Families and friends mingled, shared stories, and made new connections, strengthening the sense of community. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting meaningful community activities and empowering the next generation of Kiwi Kannadigas.
The event's success highlighted the dedication and hard work of the organisers, volunteers, and participants. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the delicious food and the noble cause, made the Dosa Camp an unforgettable experience.
As attendees left with satisfied palates and happy hearts, the sense of pride and unity was palpable. The fundraiser not only met its goals but also reinforced the importance of cultural education and community spirit.
The NZ Kannada Koota’s Dosa Camp was a day filled with flavour, fun, and fundraising, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next event. The community’s enthusiasm and support made it a true celebration of Kannada heritage in New Zealand.
